Jewlery Quality Matters
Material.
All initial jewelry made from:
Implant-grade ASTM F-136 Titanium, Certified implant-grade ASTM F-138 Steel, Niobium (Nb), 14 or 18K gold or Fused quartz and lead-free borosilicate glass.
Design.
ALL initial jewelry is internally threaded or threadless to reduce trauma on insertion and to reduce bacterial growth.
Jewelry should be an appropriate gauge and length for the tissue being pierced.
Finish.
Jewelry surfaces and ends are smooth, free of nicks, scratches, burrs, polishing compounds and have a consistent mirror finish. This reduces trauma in daily wear and reduces harboring of bacteria.
Plus, shiny jewels are… well… shinier

Poor finish and external threads harbor more bacteria then high polish internal or threadless styles so please be mindful when selecting the right jewelry for you.

Gems
“All Gems are not created equal”
Jewelry with gems or stones are securely set without the use of glues or foils.
All synthetic stones are lead-free and guaranteed against defects. Genuine stones are available set in 14K or 18K gold.
Organic Materials
We offer a variety of organic jewelry hand crafted in stone, wood, horn, bone, brass, copper, and silver which should only be worn in well healed piercing.
These type of jewelry is primarily worn in expanded/stretched earlobe piercings.
While these materials make for gorgeous designs they can be fragile and do not agree with every body.
Organic materials, even when well polished, are porus and need to be oiled/polished regularly to prevent tarnish. Even when piercings are fully healed wearing organic materials, especially if tarnished, dry, or chipped, can result in irritation, scarring or discoloration of the piercing site.
