“Mid” Helix (ages 16+)
These are anatomy dependent. Many folks have a steep valley where the helix dips/folds into the anti-helix which makes them nearly impossible to heal :(
Initial piercing is performed with an oversized 2-piece stud (flat back + top) 16 gauge (most often) minimum.
The flat back should be downsized (change to a fitted flat back [$15] that is interchangeable with initial stud top) at 1-3mo into healing.
Fitted hoops can typically be worn at 6ish mo.
